As a single mother, car repairs can be confusing and a hassle sometimes. Being a woman and not knowing much about cars leaves me wide open to a myriad of possibilities with respect to automobile repairs. Fortunately for me, those don't happen often but when they do it would be nice to find a way to know what these repairs should cost, get unbiased estimates and be in the know as to what mechanic services are reptuable and recommended as knowing the most about my vehicles.
There is help out there with the Repair Pal website. It is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. It seems to be a great one-stop resource especially for those like me who aren't very knowledgeable about the workings of automobiles, what repairs cost, etc.
The Repair Pal website offers insight into what common repairs entail, why they are necessary and what the repair job entails. This is great information to those who are not as savvy about the mechanics of cars. For example, let's say you are in need of a timing belt replacement. With the click of the mouse you can visit their Common Auto Repairs section and know exactly what Timing Belt Replacement entails.
Another very useful resource is the Common Car Models section of their site which allows you to read up all about the make and model year of your vehicle including reviews. You can also get an online repair estimate for your type of vehicle. Let's say for instance, you own a 2001 Ford Escort. Through a simple visit to the Common Car Models section, you will be able to find all particulars about your car as well as request estimates for repairs of your particular problem.
Looking for a reputable mechanic in your geographic area? Repair Pal's website provides listings and information about who you can call in your local area for a repair. As I scanned the site, I visited several geographic locations. There are some nice features in addition to the mechanic listings including information about the local area and any concerns for that particular region. For example, a visit to the Phoenix Auto Repair page results not only in ample listings to find a mechanic in Phoenix but more useful information as well. It talks about issues a car owner might face more specific to the region (for example Phoenix's begins by saying "Dry, dusty air and hot temperatures can adversely affect your vehicle and it's drivability").
Repair Pal is a great resource for information about your particular make and model of vehicle, regional concerns, mechanics listings for your area in addition to a site that provides reviews and the ability to get online estimates for your car repairs.
